Cody‘s family moved to a new house.
خانوادهی کودی به خانهی جدیدی نقل مکان کردند.
His dad got a new job as a professor.
پدرش شغل جدیدی بهعنوان استاد یافت.
Cody liked his new town, but he missed his grandparents.
کودی شهر جدیدش را دوست داشت، اما دلش برای پدربزرگ و مادربزرگش تنگ شده بود.
For his birthday, Cody wanted to have a party.
کودی برای تولدش میخواست یک مهمانی بگیرد.
His dad said, “Yes, we could even have a band play!
پدرش گفت: «آره، حتی میتونیم گروه موسیقی داشته باشیم!
On the day of the party, Cody woke up and rushed to get ready.
روز مهمانی، کودی از خواب بیدار شد و با عجله آماده شد.
He started to check his list of things to do.
او شروع به بررسی لیست کارهایش کرد.
He was so excited!
خیلی هیجانزده بود!
But then he noticed something terrible.
اما بعد متوجه چیز وحشتناکی شد.
There was snow on the ground and lots of it!
برف زیادی روی زمین بود!
“Dad!
او گفت:.
” he said.
«بابا!
“How can the band play their instruments outside?
گروه موسیقی چطور میتونن بیرون ساز بزنن؟
” Dad said, “We‘ll move the stage inside.
» پدر گفت: «صحنه رو به داخل میبریم.
It barely fit within the garage, because there were some boxes and garbage there.
به سختی درون گاراژ جای میگرفت، چون آنجا جعبه و زباله وجود داشت.
But when they finished, they got a call from the band.
اما وقتی کارشان تمام شد، از گروه تماسی دریافت کردند.
They did not want to come in the storm.
آنها نمیخواستند در توفان بیایند.
Dad said, “Let‘s get someone to perform magic.
پدر گفت: «بیاید کسی رو بیاریم که شعبده کنه.
” But no one would come because of the snow.
» اما هیچکس به خاطر برف نمیآمد.
Finally, Dad said, “Cody, there‘s too much snow.
سرانجام، پدر گفت: «کودی، برف زیاده.
We need to cancel the party.
باید مهمانی رو کنسل کنیم.
” “Yes, sir,” Cody said sadly.
» کودی با ناراحتی گفت: «باشه».
“It‘s going to be a boring birthday,” he predicted.
او پیشبینی کرد: «تولد خستهکنندهای میشه.
Cody wanted to share his birthday with someone.
کودی میخواست روز تولدش را با کسی سهیم شود.
He wanted to be at his old home.
میخواست در خانهی قدیمیاش باشد.
He wanted to see his grandparents.
میخواست مادربزرگ و مادربزرگش را ببیند.
But then something got his attention.
اما بعد چیزی توجهش را جلب کرد.
He noticed a car in the driveway.
او متوجه یک ماشین در مسیر شد.
His grandparents owned a car like that!
پدربزرگ و مادربزرگش ماشینی مثل آن داشتند!
Cody was right.
کودی درست فکر میکرد.
His grandparents came for his birthday!
پدربزرگ و مادربزرگش برای تولدش آمده بودند!
“Happy birthday, Cody!
«تولدت مبارک، کودی!
We‘re sorry we are late.
متأسفیم که دیر رسیدیم.
But there was so much snow.
اما برف خیلی زیاد بود.
It made us go off schedule.
باعث شد که از برنامه خارج بشیم.
We tried to leave a message to tell you.
سعی کردیم پیامی براتون بذاریم.
Cody told them what happened.
کودی به آنها گفت که چه اتفاقی افتاده است.
“I‘m sorry,” said Grandpa.
پدربزرگ گفت: «متاسفم.
“I was sad,” Cody said.
کودی گفت: «من ناراحت بودم.
“But I‘m not anymore.
اما دیگه نیستم.
I‘m so happy to see you.
خیلی از دیدن شما خوشحالم.
Dad brought out something special for Cody‘s birthday.
پدر یک چیز ویژه برای تولد کودی آورد.
It was his favorite, a sundae with whipped cream on top.
یک ساندا با خامهی زدهشده روی آن، که دسر موردعلاقهی او بود.
Then Cody told his grandparents about the new town.
سپس کودی دربارهی شهر جدید به پدربزرگ و مادربزرگش گفت.
It was his best birthday ever.
این بهترین تولد او بود.
