A diamond is a beautiful and valuable gem.
الماس، یه جواهر زیبا و گرون قیمتیه.
But if a diamond is “in the rough” is it still valuable?
ولی اگه الماس «زمخت باشه» یعنی همچنان با ارزشه؟

So, your friend Sam helped me with my taxes the other day.
خب، دوستت سَم چند روز پیش بهم تو پرداخت مالیات کمک کرد.

چطور این کارو کرد؟
At first I thought he wasn’t going to work out.
اولش فکر کردم قرار نیست کاری بکنه.
He looks very unprofessional with his long hair and tattoos.
با اون موهای بلند و تتوهاش، سر و وضعش خیلی ناجور و غیرحرفه ای بود.
But he is great with numbers.
ولی از این بشر یه دونه اس.
He’s a diamond in the rough.
درسته ظاهرش غلط اندازه، ولی خیلی مهربون و بخشنده اس.
He is.
آره واقعا.
And he saved me, tons of money on my taxes.
پول هنگفت مالیاتم رو داد و از فلاکت نجاتم داد.
Uncut diamonds look rough.
الماس تراش نخورده، زمخت به نظر میرسه.
They look like little stones that couldn’t be worth much.
مثل یه سنگ کوچیکی میمونه که خیلی قیمتی نیست.
But their value is hidden beneath the rough appearance.
ولی قیمت و ارزشش، زیر اون زمختی ظاهریش پنهونه.
People who look rough on the outside but have great abilities are called “diamonds in the rough.
افرادی که از بیرون ظاهر خوبی ندارن ولی کلی توانایی دارن بهشون میگن:
