آنا، چی شده؟ ناراحت به نظر میای.

I really dropped the ball.

واقعاً توپ رو انداختم.

I forgot my great-aunt was coming to town, and I was supposed to pick her up at the airport.

یادم رفت عمه‌بزرگم داره میاد شهر، و قرار بود از فرودگاه بردمش.

And you don’t. What happened?

و یادت نبود. چی شد؟

She took a taxi. But she is never going to let me forget this.

تاکسی گرفت. اما هیچوقت نمی‌ذاره این رو فراموش کنم.

In a sport like baseball, dropping the ball instead of catching it can lead to poor results.

تو ورزشی مثل بیسبال، انداختن توپ به جای گرفتنش می‌تونه به نتیجه‌ی بد منجر بشه.

As an idiom, to “drop the ball” means to fail to do something that was your responsibility.

به عنوان یه اصطلاح، «drop the ball» یعنی شکست خوردن تو انجام کاری که مسئولیتت بوده.

It can also mean to make a mistake at an important moment.

می‌تونه به این هم معنی باشه که تو یه لحظه‌ی مهم اشتباه کنی.
