کارا رو دیدی؟ چرا اینقدر ناراحته؟

She got a speeding ticket and has no money to pay for it!

یه جریمه‌ی سرعت گرفته و پول نداره که پولش رو بده!

But we all got paid yesterday. How does she have no money?

اما همه‌مون دیروز حقوق گرفتیم. چطور پول نداره؟

She told me she spent all her money on clothes and candy!

به من گفت همه‌ی پولش رو خرج لباس و شکلات کرده!

Well, she really painted herself into a corner there!

خب، اون واقعاً خودش رو تو مخمصه انداخت!

To “paint yourself into a corner” means to put yourself in a situation that is hard to escape.

«Paint yourself into a corner» یعنی خودت رو تو موقعیتی بذاری که فرار ازش سخته.

In our example, Anna and Jonathan’s friend Cara painted herself into a corner by not saving enough money to pay for an unexpected cost.

تو مثال ما، کارا، دوست آنا و جاناتان، با پس‌انداز نکردن پول کافی برای پرداخت یه هزینه‌ی پیش‌بینی‌نشده، خودش رو تو مخمصه انداخت.
