این اصطلاح می‌تونه یعنی چیزی چسبناکه.

But how is this adjective used in other situations?

اما این صفت تو موقعیت‌های دیگه چطور استفاده میشه؟

Jonathan! Did you buy your mom that tacky dress she wanted?

جاناتان! اون پیراهن جلفی که مامانت می‌خواست رو براش خریدی؟

You mean the one with the stripes and the polka dots and the enormous bow tie on the shoulder?

منظورت اونیه که راه راه و خال خالی داشت و یه پاپیون غول‌آسا روی شونه‌ش بود؟

Yeah, I did. Seems like she has her own idea about fashion.

آره، خریدم. به نظر میاد اون درباره‌ی مد نظر خودش رو داره.

If something is described as tacky, that means it is of poor quality or just shows bad taste.

اگه چیزی «tacky» توصیف بشه، یعنی کیفیت پایینی داره یا فقط سلیقه‌ی بدی رو نشون می‌ده.

A person can wear tacky clothes, tell a tacky joke, or read a tacky romance novel.

یه نفر می‌تونه لباس جلف بپوشه، یه جوک بی‌مزه بگه، یا یه رمان عاشقانه‌ی بی‌کیفیت بخونه.

Fortunately, I have never done a tacky thing in my life.

خوشبختانه، من تو عمرم هیچ کار جلفی نکردم.
