باورم نمی‌شه «آپارتمانِ کارت‌ها» رو لغو کردن. واقعاً از اون سریال لذت می‌بردم!

Why?

چرا؟

Why! I’m not surprised.

چرا! من تعجب نمی‌کنم.

What do you mean? How could you have known about that? Even the cast didn’t know!

منظورت چیه؟ چطور می‌تونستی ازش خبر داشته باشی؟ حتی بازیگرا هم نمی‌دونستن!

I didn’t know either. But the main actor has been in the news a lot, and not for good reasons. I saw the writing on the wall.

من هم نمی‌دونستم. اما بازیگر اصلی زیاد تو خبرها بوده، و نه به دلایل خوب. من نشانه‌ها رو دیدم.

The expression “to see the writing on the wall” refers to a sign or warning.

عبارت «to see the writing on the wall» به یه نشانه یا هشدار اشاره داره.

When you say this, you suspect that something bad is going to happen.

وقتی این رو می‌گی، حدس می‌زنی که قراره اتفاق بدی بیفته.

It comes from a Bible story, in which mysterious writing on a wall warns that a king’s rule is about to end. And then it happens.

این از یه داستان انجیلی میاد، که نوشته‌ای مرموز روی دیوار هشدار می‌ده که حکومت یه پادشاه داره به پایان می‌رسه. و بعد همون اتفاق می‌افته.
